How can I save MORE money on my cruise?

Also known as the ":Do I really need a window/outside cabin" question.

Many first time cruisers ask this question for good reason,,,,,,you can often save over 200 dollars per cabin (sometimes MUCH MORE) simply by forgoing a window,,,,,,,,and choosing an inside cabin.

The question is,,,,,,,do you NEED an outside cabin (one with a window to the outside).

the simple answer is NO, you don't,  Most of the time, you spend so little time IN your cabin, that it won't make a huge difference. Frankly, I never notice when I DON'T have one. Windows are often small, usually covered in salt, and do little more than let in some light. Unless you're choosing a stateroom with a balcony, which generally prices 2-3 times the cost, frankly,,,,,,,,,in my opinion, they are pretty useless.

and NOT having a window can save you HUGE amounts of money sometimes.

Let's compare here!

click that link and scroll down through the European cruise offerings,,,,,notice that in MOST cases, the outside cabin is at LEAST 300 dollars MORE than the inside,,,,,,and those rates are PER PERSON based on double occupancy,,,,,,,,,,,fancy words for saying your party of two saves at least SIX HUNDRED DOLLARS by taking an inside cabin.

On the April 29th sailing of the Vision of the Seas for the Northern 8 day cruise,,,,,,it's nearly FOUR HUNDRED dollars more PER PERSON for an outside cabin. If you chose to take an inside cabin on that sailing, you would have saved 800 dollars per state room by doing so. That's some pretty serious change you could spend on a lot of other things.

There are some people that I recommend always to have an outside cabin. People who usually buy suites or a cabin with a balcony are probably going to prefer at least a window cabin,,,,,,,,

and those who might feel terribly closed in without one to the point of having panic attacks are generally better off with a window.

But if those aren't you,,,,,,,,,,,,,,try an inside cabin. You probably won't even notice it,,,,,,,and you'll save quite a bit of money!

Hope that helped someone! Oh, and by the way,,,,,,,if you want to save 800 per cabin on that sailing,,it's April 29th, and I'd be happy to book it for you! Rates do not include taxes, govt fees or air fare.
